What does a $220 telescope give you – REVIEW of the Meade Infinity 102 AZ

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION: I only bought this to see what a cheaper telescope had to offer as I get people that want to spend very little money when starting out in the hobby. I was going to throw the scope out when done with this review but am thinking of donating it to a group or to a youngster starting out.

The video I believe speaks for itself. The mount is pretty much useless when it comes to ease of use. What else can I say? I was pleasantly surprised with the telescope though. Not bad for the price. Use your own judgment as to what is acceptable and make sure you know what the return policy is for any telescope you choose to purchase online.

I think that a refractor is best for a youngster as they don’t have to worry about making any adjustments to the optics as would be required in a reflector or catadioptric telescope.

IMPORTANT – this telescope was bought and paid for by myself. It was not donated by Meade or any third party seller so I am not indebted to anyone. This review is just my own personal opinion.

just purchased one of these scope’s and waiting for delivery, i read enough reviews to know that its one of the better “low end” beginner scope’s, unfortunately astronomy equipment is very expensive here in Australia and that exact scope is $499, I’m glad you took the time to make this video it’s helped me understand a lot more about it, thank you, so the first thing I’ll do after a couple of week’s time of usage will be to invest in some higher quality eyepiece’s.

Hi from Bonaire, great video. Agree this one is a good start telescope. I have one, i use it for DSO, as a beginer i try to do my best with this tube. I use it on a Meade robotic arm NG audiostar. there is a link, so you can see some examples.
